Duch hard to escape from M-13 head, claims witness
Interrogation into Duch about M-13 torture center was concluded in a Wednesday, 8 April’s hearing. But the afternoon’s hearing of Duch reached an interrogation stage into witnesses about the M-13. The first witness amongst the four to testify before court about the M-13 is French anthropologist Francois Bizot. He was witness for Duch, claiming in the court that Duch was in a hard time to escape from the head of Khmer Rouge’s interrogation center M-13. Duch was trapped in the Khmer Rouge’s communist regime.
Duch more seriously charged with a new role at M-13
Kaing Guek Eav alias Duch the trial chamber was trying on 9 April 2009 was more seriously charged with his new role as head of interrogation center M-13. The trial chamber of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts (ECCC) who is holding a hearing in the case file of Duch questioned two other witnesses tortured at the M-13 of Kompong Chhnang province – including a French national. The two witnesses the tribunal summoned for questioning were French national Francois Bizot and Cambodia national Uch Sorn, whom of them were arrested and detained by security guards of the M-13 in 1973. There they were the most brutally tortured.
