K Rouge tribunal staff not getting wages for April
By the end of April, Khmer Rouge tribunal’s administration office announced that there were no monthly wages to be provided to the Cambodian side’s staff for the month of April. But wages for April would be offered during the third or fourth week of May 2009 together with the wages for May.
Japan gives US$4,000,000 to ECCC’s Cambodian side
Japan gave US$ 4,000,000 to the Khmer Rouge tribunal for monthly wages of the Cambodian side’s staff after facing funding shortfall for a while.
Tribunal spokesman Reach Sambath said 1 May the amount of money would be used for the monthly wages of the Cambodian side’s staff until 31 December 2009. “This is the large amount of money and completely valuable. We warmly welcome to Japan’s decision to announce its immediate contribution to the Khmer Rouge tribunal.”
