Nuon Chea’s defence team urges judges to clearly state kickback at KR tribunal
Nuon Chea’s defence team urged judges at the Khmer Rouge tribunal to take measure against kickback paid to senior Cambodian officials of the internationally standardized court after the UN and the government of Cambodia failed to reach an agreement to form anti-corruption mechanism within the hybrid court.
Defence team at the tribunal said Wednesday that presiding judges had no choices beside opening investigation into allegations of corruption within the UN-backed tribunal. The insistence came a day after Nuon Chea’s defence team filed another separate complaint, urging the judges to terminate court power to assure fair trial in court.
